VIRAT KOHLI : FULL BIOGRAPHY

 

                                                              

Virat Kohli, a young and gifted right-handed batsman, was born in Delhi on November 5, 1988. His father was Prem Kohli, and his mother was Saroj Kohli. Due to a brain stroke, his father, a lawyer, passed away on December 19, 2006.  Virat has two older siblings: Bhavna, his sister, and Vikash, his brother.  He attended Paschim Vihar, Delhi's St. Sofia School for his education.

Virat Kohli was among the first pupils of The West Delhi Cricket Academy when it was founded in 1998. November 23, 2006, saw Virat join the Delhi Ranji team. In his debut game, he faced Tamil Nadu. When Virat represented Delhi against Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy tournament, he became viral. In that game, he scored ninety. His father died of a brain stroke around three in the morning on that one day alone, December 19, 2006.

On April 3, 2007, Virat participated in his maiden T20 encounter in Delhi against Himachal Pradesh. He captained the Indian under-19 cricket team during the 2008 World Cup, which India won. Since 2008, he has also been a member of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In the 2008 Ideal Cup, he made his One Day International debut against Sri Lanka because to injuries sustained by both Virendar Sewag and legendary batter Virat Tendulkar. Virat was unable to demonstrate his worth in the first game when he was dismissed for 12 runs, but he made a vital 37 runs in the second game to enable India win and tie the series. In the fourth game, Virat scored his first half century, which gave India the series victory over Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli was left out of the team for the fifth ODI series against Sri Lanka in January 2009. Virat was only able to play on occasion after Yuvraj recovered.

When Virat Tendulakar took a break in January 2010, Kohli took his place. He participated in all five of the Bangladeshi matches. On January 7, 2010, Virat scored 91 runs in the match against Bangladesh. In order to receive an extra point, he also scored an undefeated 71 and contributed to India's triumph. He struck his second century in an ODI the very next day. In the footsteps of Virat Tendulkar and Suresh Raina, he became the third batsman from India to hit two ODI centuries before turning 22.

For the Zimbabwean matches against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, Virat Kohli was named deputy captain. In ODI cricket, Virat became the fastest Indian player to reach 1,000 runs. In 2010, he achieved even greater success as the top run scorer, with 995 runs, including three centuries.

Suresh Raina was not favored over Virat Kohli during the 2011 World Cup. In his World Cup debut, Virat demonstrated his talent by becoming the first Indian player to achieve a century. Throughout the games, Virat kept his run pace steady. In nine innings, he scored 282 runs at an average of 35.25.

In the West Indies, Virat Kohli struggled a little bit during his first Test .Together with the players with less experience, he was selected for the Test squad in June and July 2011.. Virat only managed to score 76 runs in five innings. After that, Virat was left off of the Test team for the following four games, but he was later called up because of Yuvraj's injury.

India defeated England in October 2011, and Virat Kohli scored the most, amassing 270 runs overall across five matches, including a career-high 112 runs. The West Indies visited India for three Tests and five One-Day Internationals in November and December of 2011. Prior to Raina, Kohli was included in the Test team. In the game, He managed to score two fifties during the game.

In the three-match ODI series, Kohli was India's top run scorer. Despite not making it to the finals, Kohli amassed 133 runs for India. Because of his effort in that contest, he was chosen Man of the contest. Virat Kohli was selected as the ODI team's vice captain for the 2012 Asia Cup in March. He became the highest-scoring Indian in One-Day Internationals ever with 183 runs against Pakistan. In both the Asia Cup and One Day Internationals, this is Virat's greatest individual score. At the ICC annual award ceremony in Columbia, Sri Lanka, on September 15, 2012, Kohli was named the ODI cricketer of the year.

In the 2013 Indian Premier League, Virat Kohli assumed leadership of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise. In addition to Virat, the team features outstanding players like Chris Gayle and Tillakaratne Dilshan to help him. A dispute erupted between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, during the game. During the game, they got into a nasty altercation on the field.
